Starting the journey

UVA students at Dulles airport

oday’s the day!

As we ushered in the new year, we also started our J-term course Game Change: Bridging the U.S. China Divide through sport.

All of us met up at Dulles International Airport and had a good bonding session as we waited for our flight to San Francisco. I got to know more about each of the students and why they were interested to go on this trip. We flew in to San Francisco and then another 15 hours to Hong Kong.

As soon as we land, we are planning to go for hotel breakfast and explore the city before class starts! I can sense the excitement from everyone and can’t wait to explore ping pong diplomacy and the three cities on this trip.

Before I wrap up, I'd like to add a sprinkle of personal excitement. Along with academia and diplomacy; I'm also looking forward to engaging in some table tennis matches. So, get ready to see some quick reflexes and, who knows, maybe a few surprise shots!
