Students, learn about opportunities abroad, including study abroad, research, and internships.
Everyone! While we don't have a Passport Drive this year, find resources about obtaining or renewing a U.S. Passport.
There are multiple pathways for going abroad while - and sometimes after - you're a student at UVA. Check out the units and resources below for more.
We look forward to the time when travel can safely resume! For first and second years especially, know that it's never too early to start thinking about education abroad. On the Education Abroad website, you'll find information about programs, academic and other important considerations, how to apply and prepare, and more. Looking for a first step? Take the Education Abroad Workshop, available on the homepage.
Looking for a more immediate global experience? Check out the new Global Internships virtual internships for Spring semester, with a range of placements available (but don't delay - the deadline is November 1!). On the Global Internships site, you'll find additional resources, considerations, and opportunities for this workplace-based education abroad experience.
Office of Citizen Scholar Development
The Office of Citizen Scholar Development is the fellowships office of the University of Virginia, supporting current students (undergraduate, graduate, professional) and alumni. On the Office of Citizen Scholar Development website, you'll find an Awards Database, information about upcoming info sessions, and more.
Getting a Passport
Planning ahead, and need to obtain or renew a U.S. Passport? The U.S. Department of State website is the definitive source for information about the process, including what you'll need to apply, how to submit your application, and estimated processing times, as well as updates on passport operations around the country.
The second button below is to the locator search; while the Passport Drive that typically takes place during Global Week is cancelled this year, there are multiple acceptance facilities in the greater Charlottesville area for applicants who must submit in-person.
