Join the International Studies Office and the Carter G. Woodson Institute for a documentary screening of Brief Tender Light. The film is a coming-of-age, transnational story which follows the lives of four African students from Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe, as they navigate the complexities of identity and culture in the US. After the film, Professor Nemata Blyden, Chair of the Department of African American and African Studies, will moderate a panel discussion with current students where they will share reflections on the film and their own educational journeys at UVA.
