The UVA Postdoc Association (UVA PDA) and Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs (OGPA) are co-hosting the 2025 UVA Postdoc Research Symposium at Alumni Hall. For the first time, the symposium will be joined by fellow postdocs from Virginia Tech! This will be a one-day event highlighting the many disciplines of research projects being undertaken by UVA and Virginia Tech postdocs and will feature a keynote presentation as well as many opportunities for networking.
Each year the UVA PDA highlights a Symposium theme, this year's theme aims to provide a space for postdocs across all disciplines to come together, connect with peers and showcase their research independently of their background or research field. The UVA PDA encourage participation from postdocs of all backgrounds and across all areas of research and scholarship.
This year's symposium will include a poster competition as well as a lightning talk competition. You may choose to participate in either or both competitions. There will also be a resource fair and professional headshots available throughout the afternoon. We look forward to seeing your presentations and we hope you will enjoy each other’s work, gain new ways of thinking about your own projects, and build additional bonds at and beyond UVA.
