UVA Global is...
Global Studies is a pan-University program comprised of five vibrant, diverse, and interwoven learning communities re-imagining undergraduate education in the 21st century. The innovative and interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts curriculum prepares students to assess and navigate complex social, political, and economic systems. They connect with local communities, institutions, and places, in order to imagine flourishing futures for particularly and differently situated people in communities, locally and globally.
The Center for Global Inquiry and Innovation (CGII) was founded to encourage and fund global research throughout the University of Virginia. CGII's mission is to stimulate inquiry in all fields and disciplines (arts, humanities, social sciences, STEM), to promote interdisciplinary and collaborative practices, and to address challenges of global scale, scope, concern, perspective, and impact.
The faculty and staff of the Center for Global Health Equity work to support the development of global health leaders and global health capacity with partner institutions, organizations, faculty and students.
The International Studies Office (ISO) is a University-wide resource which contributes to UVA's global mission through activities, programs and services designed to support the development of a globally aware, culturally diverse education and research environment. Through the International Students and Scholars Program, UVA Education Abroad, and the Lorna Sundberg International Center, the ISO provides expertise and infrastructure to help expand and sustain global education at the University of Virginia. The ISO is also home to the CORE (Cultural Orientation, Reflection, and Engagement) Program and the Peace Corps Prep Program.
